About Us

San Antonio Brass, Inc.

The San Antonio Brass (SAB) has provided South Texas with world class performances and educational programs for over 30 years. Since its founding in 1982, the SAB has the mission of contributing to the cultural life of San Antonio, Bexar County and the state of Texas through the talents of countless musicians who participate in our programs including professional, university instructors, talented amateurs and students.

As a performing arts organization the SAB fulfills our mission by offering a wide variety of musical experiences through the exciting medium of brass music and music education. This includes solo performances, small ensembles like a brass quintet, larger ten piece brass ensemble all the way to a full sized british style brass band. The SAB has presented educational programs including the San Antonio Brass Camp at St. Mary's University, Brass in the Class and B.E.S.T. (Brass Ensemble Summer Training) as well as participating in the City of San Antonio Neighborhood Arts Program.

Past SAB performance projects have included world premieres of new compositions, collaborations with the Texas Music Educators Association, Children's Chorus of San Antonio, the Cactus Pear Music Festival, the Guadalupe Dance Company, the Jim Cullum Jazz Band and our San Antonio Brass Christmas Album.
